South Shore Charter School is a tuition-free elementary public charter school. We are accepting applications from students entering Kindergarten, first grade and second grade. We will continue to add one grade each subsequent year as students age up until the school serves Kindergarten through fifth grade. The application is free, there is no interview process and students are admitted by random lottery. All students who are residents of New York State, including students with IEPs and English Language Learners, are encouraged to apply. Our lottery is conducted with preferences given in this order:
1. Returning Students
2. Siblings of Currently Enrolled Students
3. Central Islip School District Resident Students with a Disability;
4. Non-Central Islip School District Resident Students with a Disability;
5. Central Islip School District Resident Students;
6. Non-Central Islip School District Resident Students.
