Character education is a key component of our instructional program. With a focus on personal accountability and an emphasis on our core values, scholars at South Shore Charter School will cultivate their personal potential and establish their authentic leadership skills.
At South Shore Charter School, lessons in all subject begins with an essential question to spark curiosity and prompt students to develop a course of action. Students will engage in knowledge utilization, which is the top educational objective on the Marzano Taxonomy.
Academic and social emotional intervention is a critical component of our educational program, targeted at our Students with Disabilities, English Language Learners and our Title I population. We will provide intervention services to our most vulnerable students in small group settings throughout the year.
Our scholars have a longer school day and a longer school year. This will ensure that they get the most out of their education to prepare them for future success. Our regular school day starts at 7:45am and ends at 4:00pm. We offer 185 days of instruction each year. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in After School and Saturday Academy programs.
South Shore Charter School scholars will acquire the building blocks for health, wellness, and balance through a supportive environment that stimulates and promotes ethical, social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth. Students engage in 30-minutes of social emotional learning each day during morning meeting.
South Shore Charter School scholars receives 165-minutes of ELA and 90-minutes of math on a daily basis. This allows us to establish a strong academic foundation for future success.
