South Shore Charter School proudly celebrated the launch of its Bank-at-School Program in partnership with Peoples Alliance Federal Credit Union with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony! This milestone event, held on December 11th, featured our Founder and Executive Director, Dermoth Mattison, alongside Carol Allen, CEO of Peoples Alliance, and Jennifer Gunns, Director of Business Development & Community Affairs.
This exciting initiative gives scholars the opportunity to learn real-world financial skills by opening and managing their own savings accounts—right from school. The program is designed to teach the importance of saving and building healthy money habits that will last a lifetime.
During the ceremony, school leaders, representatives from Peoples Alliance Federal Credit Union, gathered to mark the beginning of this empowering program. Students will now have access to banking services on designated days, right here at South Shore Charter School, making it easier than ever to start saving for their future.

South Shore Charter School celebró con orgullo el inicio de su programa Banco en la Escuela en colaboración con Peoples Alliance Federal Credit Union con una ceremonia especial de corte de cinta. Este evento importante, realizado el 11 de diciembre, contó con la presencia de nuestro fundador y director ejecutivo, Dermoth Mattison, junto con Carol Allen, directora ejecutiva de Peoples Alliance, y Jennifer Gunns, directora de Desarrollo Empresarial y Asuntos Comunitarios.
Esta iniciativa ofrece a los estudiantes la oportunidad de aprender habilidades financieras reales al abrir y administrar sus propias cuentas de ahorro directamente desde la escuela.
