HOURS: 7:15am-4:15pm+some out of school time responsibilities
COMPENSATION: Our salary range for teachers is $60,500-75,000 (Please note that salaries are determined based on credentials and years of experience)
RETIREMENT PLAN: New York State Teacher Retirement Pension Plan (NYSTRS) offered to all employees.
SUMMMER INSTITUTE: All newly hired teachers are required to attend our mandatory Professional Development training (August 12th – August 28th) (*Mon-Fri: 8am-4pm)

Position Overview
South Shore Charter School is seeking passionate Elementary Teachers who are committed to academic excellence, collaboration, and continuous growth. Successful candidates will create engaging learning environments, build strong relationships with students and families, and use data to drive student achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction and assess student progress.
- Use data to inform instruction, intervention, and acceleration.
- Collaborate with colleagues and Special Education staff to meet diverse student needs.
- Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom culture.
- Build strong partnerships with families through regular communication.
- Participate in coaching, professional development, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Support school-wide initiatives, daily operations, and student recruitment efforts.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- New York State Teaching Certification required.
Experience & Skills
- Two or more years of teaching experience preferred.
- Strong instructional, classroom management, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience using data to improve student outcomes.
- Inquiry-based or project-based learning experience preferred.
- Commitment to equity, collaboration, and continuous professional growth.
