South Shore Charter School’s academic program provides a rigorous, child-centered learning experience that prepares scholars to think critically, solve real-world problems, and build a strong foundation for future success.
Our character education program complements and reinforces our academic program. We teach students that character shapes how we approach every aspect of life, including learning and achievement.
Research shows that a focus on social-emotional learning (SEL) not only improves academic achievement by an average of 11 percentile points, but also increases prosocial behaviors, such as kindness, empathy, and cooperation, while reducing stress, depression, and negative attitudes toward school.
